Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Permanent | 48 hours per week | Monday to Friday (start time from 6am)
£16–£18 per hour depending on experience (circa £47,000 inclusive of on-call allowance and overtime)
Role summary
This is a multi-site Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role supporting agricultural and site-based equipment in a regulated environment. You’ll be responsible for planned maintenance, fault finding and repair across a range of mechanical and associated systems.
The role suits a mechanically qualified engineer who is comfortable working independently, taking part in an on-call rota and operating across different locations.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance across agricultural and site equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults, isolate issues and complete effective repairs
- Replace worn or defective components to maintain smooth operation
- Install electrical systems and associated equipment, ensuring correct certification
- Participate in the on-call rota (every fortnight)
- Work in line with site safety procedures and best practice
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues and management across sites
What we’re looking for
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
- Mechanical apprenticeship background desirable
- Strong mechanical fault-finding ability
- Understanding of commercial and residential installations (agricultural experience advantageous)
- Experience working safely within regulated environments
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay & benefits
£16–£18 per hour depending on qualifications
On-call allowance of £100 per weekend plus hourly rate if called out
