This role leads Health, Safety and Environmental management for a large industrial manufacturing site. You’ll take ownership of HSE systems, compliance and continuous improvement, working closely with site leadership to strengthen standards and behaviours.

It suits an experienced HSE professional who can balance regulatory compliance with operational practicality in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain site HSE management systems in line with ISO standards and UK legislation
• Monitor compliance using KPIs, audits and internal reporting processes
• Oversee risk assessments, ensuring they are robust, current and embedded into daily operations
• Coordinate statutory assessments (fire, legionella, asbestos, emergency response and others) and ensure actions are delivered
• Act as site lead for occupational health and employee health surveillance
• Drive safety training and promote safe working behaviours across the site
• Monitor environmental compliance including waste streams (liquid, solid and air emissions)
• Oversee operation and compliance of the site waste treatment plant
• Manage investigations into HSE incidents, implementing corrective actions
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across safety and environmental performance

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within manufacturing, food production or agriculture
• Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation (HASAWA, COSHH, PUWER, Working at Height etc.)
• Understanding of environmental compliance and waste management systems
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
• Confident communicator able to influence at all levels
• Practical, hands-on approach
