The Role

We’re working with a Suffolk-based engineering manufacturer looking to appoint a CAD Engineer to support the design and development of trailers and agricultural machinery. This is a practical design role, closely linked to the shop floor, where your work will move quickly from concept to manufacture.

It’s well suited to someone with strong mechanical design experience who understands fabrication and wants to see their designs built and used in the real world.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop trailers and agricultural machinery using 2D and 3D CAD software
• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies and bills of materials
• Ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and cost-effective
• Work closely with production, fabrication and purchasing teams to support build and delivery
• Contribute to continuous improvement of existing products and design processes

What We’re Looking For

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline
• Strong experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles
• Knowledge of fabrication methods, steel structures, weldments, fasteners and hydraulics
• Ability to produce accurate, production-ready drawings
