Project Manager – Civil Engineering

Role summary

This is a leadership role responsible for delivering civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion. You’ll take full ownership of programme, commercial performance, quality, safety and client relationships across one or multiple schemes.

Projects may include highways, infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, structures, utilities and public realm works. The role suits an experienced Project Manager who combines strong technical understanding with commercial control and confident team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of civil engineering projects
• Develop and manage detailed programmes (MS Project or Primavera P6)
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
• Identify and manage project risks throughout the lifecycle
• Oversee subcontractor performance and site coordination
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reporting
• Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor on valuations, variations and final accounts
• Ensure compliance with NEC, JCT or other contract conditions
• Promote high standards of health, safety and quality on site
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Lead Site Managers, Engineers and delivery teams

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within Civil Engineering
• Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience
• Good working knowledge of NEC, JCT or similar contracts
• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline preferred
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong leadership, organisational and stakeholder management skills
