Job Title: Integration and Data Engineer
Location: Chippenham (Office-based, 5 days per week)
The Opportunity
Cooper Lomaz are partnering with a well-established and fast-growing organisation in the South West, seeking a Integration and Data Engineer to support and enhance their business-critical systems and data infrastructure.
This is a varied and technically engaging role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across databases, ERP systems, and cloud-based data platforms. You’ll play a key role in ensuring data integrity, improving system performance, and enabling better decision-making across the business through high-quality reporting and insights.
Working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, you’ll act as a bridge between IT and the wider business—translating requirements into scalable, efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimise SQL Server environments, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
- Design and develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support reporting, integrations, and operational processes.
- Support and enhance the organisation’s ERP platform, including customisation and ongoing improvements.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand business processes and identify opportunities for system and data enhancements.
- Build and manage data pipelines, ingesting data from multiple sources including APIs and databases.
- Cleanse, transform, and structure data to ensure it is accurate, consistent, and ready for reporting and analytics.
- Develop and publish reliable datasets to support business intelligence and reporting tools.
- Automate workflows and data processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with support teams, providing guidance and technical expertise where required.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database administration, performance tuning, and security management.
- Advanced SQL development skills, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Experience working with ERP systems (ideally within manufacturing, distribution, or similar environments).
- Knowledge of SAP Business One or similar systems, including understanding of core data structures and business processes.
- Experience customising ERP platforms using third-party tools or add-ons.
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms, including data ingestion, transformation, and modelling.
- Strong working knowledge of Power Query, Dataflows, and data warehousing concepts.
Cloud & Integration Experience
- Experience working with cloud-based platforms, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Practical knowledge of workflow automation tools such as Logic Apps or equivalent technologies.
- Experience building or supporting serverless or event-driven processes (e.g. Function Apps or similar).
- Understanding of integrating systems via APIs and managing data flows between platforms.
