High Voltage Cable Jointer – £40K
Key Responsibilities:
*
Install, joint, terminate, and maintain high voltage (HV) cables. 11kV and 33kV
*
Perform HV cable jointing work in accordance with safety standards, instructions and company procedures.
*
Carry out pre-installation checks, including testing and inspection of cables.
*
Interpret and follow electrical schematics, plans, and technical specifications.
*
Troubleshoot and repair faults in HV cable systems, including testing and diagnostics.
*
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
*
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
*
Ensure all work is carried out to the highest quality standards and documented correctly.
*
Participate in ongoing training and development to stay compliant with industry standards and best practices
*
Travel to various job sites as required, including potentially remote or challenging locations.
Qualifications:
*
Proven experience in high voltage cable jointing, with a recognised certification within the distribution sector or apprenticeship.
*
Strong knowledge of electrical theory, HV cable systems, and jointing techniques.
*
Ability to work safely and effectively under pressure and in various environmental conditions.
*
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*
Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
*
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
*
Familiarity with HV testing equipment and techniques is an asset.
