The Site Engineer coordinates what is required to ensure all factory equipment is maintained and fit for production in line with the technical standards. You will develop and implement a routine of planned preventative maintenance for all factory equipment in line with the machine classification priority matrix. Maintain and authorise the permit to work system ensuring contractor compliance and safety is adhered to.

You will also be required to support production when requirements for the business vary

Week 1: 6am to 2pm
Week 2: 12 to 8pm

37.5 working hours per week with half an hour unpaid break each day

The salary offered is £40,000.00 per annum and the benefits are as follows:

Planned preventative maintenance system
Develop and maintain a planned preventative maintenance system based on technical manuals, manufacturers recommendations and professional assessment, which reflects the specific needs of all factory electrical and mechanical equipment. Implement the system on an ongoing basis and updating the database.
Carry out reactive maintenance as directed or planned. This will include factory, canteen, office and external areas.
Record and complete a job request form with agreement from team leader.
Provide a step by step guide for all preventive maintenance tasks.

Reactive maintenance
Provide a responsive service to production in the event of equipment failure.
Provide root cause analysis for breakdowns and implement countermeasures to prevent further breakdown events.
Be flexible in your work pattern on the event of a breakdown outside of your working hours.

Other responsibilities
Co-ordinate work schedules with external contractors ensuring they are inducted onto site, follow the permit to work system, ensure contractors work in line with technical standards and the work carried out is signed off as complete and satisfactory.
Carry out portable appliance testing on site.
Complete improvement tasks outlined by the production team.
Complete monthly stock checks and maintain the repair and maintenance budget.
Meet weekly with your manager to review and priorities tasks.
Maintain the communicate KPI’s; planned preventive maintenance, breakdown and improvement requests.

Health and Safety
Responsible for ensuring that Health and Safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices are adhered to in your area.
Ensure that you take responsibility for your Health and Safety in the workplace and notify your manager immediately, if there is anything that concerns you.
Act as the engineering lead on any food safety incidents in partnership with the factory manager and technical support.

Other Information
You will be required to carry out or assist with other tasks, from time to time, which may or may not be related to the areas above.
You will be expected to undertake training as the business context changes and evolves.
